[android-porting] how to upgrade build system from 6.0.1 to 8.1.0

I have a build system for an amlogic box. Currently it's 6.0.1. I'd like
to upgrade my build system to Oreo, but can't not find any clear
documentation on the path for upgrading. Any help out there?

HAL and the Kernel (BSP) are most dependent parts for this move. As user
space can be complied but HAL layer should be compatible with new
changes/definitions modified from 6.x to 8.x.
